Happy Big 3, Trippy!!

3 years ago today our precious Trip entered the world......with those big brown eyes. Here he is just before we left the hospital......
.....and at 2 weeks
.....at 3 1/2 months with Ruby who was barely 2
........ at 18 months
.......and March 30, 2009 on his 2nd birthday. When I went through these pics I realized just how much his look has quickly changed through the years. It seems like he's had that shaggy blonde do forever! And if I didn't birth him myself I would never know that the baby pics above were indeed Mr. Trip.
Today to celebrate the day we met Daddy for lunch at Chik-fil-A (Ruby's class painted on bunny faces today.)
and then went to see the new Dragon flick (fyi, not preschool age appropriate- very dark with ferocious dragons. R liked it but too scary for T.) After the movie we couldn't resist soaking in the nice weather so we hit the park.
Then it was home for dinner followed by birthday cake, very poorly made by me around midnight last night. I found some gel icings that had been in the pantry too long which separated and ran all over the cake. He was still excited to see it and it tasted yummy.
Happy Birthday, sweet Trippers! We can't imagine our life without you and your big smile, sweet hugs, and great insights that always put a smile on our face. I can't believe you're 3 years old and officially no longer a baby. You're such a joyful, handsome little man. We love you!...... Btw, Trip was not happy at all this morning to hear that he was now 3 and no longer 2. With his reaction you'd think he was turning 40! He says that he doesn't want to be big and wants to stay little forever. And, I must say that I'm perfectly happy for him to do so..... well, as long as we can work the use of a potty in at some point. Ironically, he also said today that he wants to be a dinosaur when he grows up. What a dreamer!

Sleepover!!

After the trip to the daffodils Vivian and Bauer came home with us for the night. Even though Rex was out of town I felt completely safe and protected with 2 superheroes in the house! "Ms. Snephnie, look at our muscles!"
After the kids were asleep (which I'm proud to say was at 7:45) I went to work making them Easter T-shirts.
I love the huge range of dramatic expression in this photo.

After 24 straight hours with our best buds, everyone was a little delirious.
It really was a fun day. We'll definitely do it again soon.

Wye Mountain Daffodils

On Monday we took advantage of the warm weather and made our annual trip to the Wye Mountain Daffodil Festival.

The boys did what boys will do and pretended that the flowers were swords.

Thank you Days for a lovely afternoon!

Build-a-Bear!!!

After the birthday party and lunch at Chili's (Trip calls it Tili's) YaYa treated the kids to their first trip to Build-a-Bear. Trip picked out Alvin the Chipmunk and Ruby wanted the Chipette, Brittney.
After they were stuffed,
given a bath,
and dressed they were ready to take home..... or cruise home in their new ride. Trip was instantly attached to the car and pretty much refused to leave without it.
Thank you so much for our new friends, YaYa!!..... Oh, and I forgot to mention that Alvin and Brittney sing. That makes them EXTRA special and fun. ;)
